Korting Wotruba International

The sculptor Fritz Wotruba is regarded as one of the most influential figures in Austrian art and culture of the postwar period. The publication showcases works by Wotruba-from his early Torso, which was praised by Aristide Maillol, to his last large-scale sculpture -alongside pieces by international sculptors including Kenneth Armitage, Alberto Giacometti, Barbara Hepworth, Henri Laurens, Jacques Lipchitz, Marino Marini, Henry Moore, Louise Nevelson, Isamu Noguchi, and Germaine Richier. A selection of historically informed juxtapositions of their works highlights the context that reveals Wotruba’s distinctive sculptural language and its relevance for art after 1945.
