Herman de Vries: All this Here Favoriet

Dutch artist Herman de Vries (b. 1931) is truly a pioneer – one of the first artists not to represent nature, but to present it as it appears to us. In his view, nature is not a collection of isolated phenomena; rather, everything is interconnected. This holistic, ecological perspective makes his work more relevant today than ever. This publication is released in conjunction with the exhibition ‘herman de vries. 70 years nature as art’ at Rijksmuseum Twenthe, Enschede (24 May – 9 November 2025).
