Leonora Carrington (1917-2011) a traversé frontières, continents et mouvements artistiques, laissant une oeuvre aussi foisonnante qu’insaisissable. Leonora Carrington (1917–2011) transcended borders, continents, and artistic movements, leaving behind a body of work as abundant as it is elusive. Born in England to a family steeped in Celtic traditions, and educated in London, Florence, and Paris, she joined the Surrealist avant-garde before experiencing exile, from Spain to New York, and finally settling in Mexico, where she achieved recognition alongside Frida Kahlo and Remedios Varo.
Between foundational myths and intimate narratives, Carrington explored metamorphosis, the sacred feminine, magic, alchemy, and ecology, developing an inner cartography nourished by Celtic myths, European esotericism, and spiritual traditions from around the world.
